Having partnered allied health professional locums in their job search for over 25 years, the director of Countrywide Medical Selection and Occupational Therapist Julie Cartwright was well placed to establish Countrywide Medical Training in 2009. She is adamant that good agency practice involves meeting every candidate in person to thoroughly understand their circumstances and preferences for locum work.
These meetings often overran so that short appointments quickly became lively discussions! Through this process and via Julie’s recruitment team, it became clear that a multitude of aspects of locum work always need urgent attention; jobs, rates, travel, accommodation, visas, compliance and more.
In short, it seemed what would help is information and specialised professional training – being not only in the right place at right time, but with the best preparation to make the most of those opportunities.
